The Role

Hospitality at One Cornelia is a team sport. Due to the intimate nature of the space, it is essential that the entire team that works closely together and is aligned on creating memorable experiences for everyone they encounter from guests, to fellow employees, to vendors, as well as the community. In this tight knit ecosystem, Bar Backs are the glue that helps maintain consistent service through both supporting Bartenders in maintaining their station, as well as working during service to help guests.  An overall awareness of what is going on around you at all times is critical to your ability to anticipate Bartender needs, keep an eye on the temperature of service, and act accordingly.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Ability to multitask effectively, and possess a calm demeanor in stressful situations
• A passion for food, wine, and service
• A strong sense of awareness of their surroundings and a sense of urgency
• Ability to maintain a tidy and organized station
• A desire to learn and grow
• Have long term goals in the service industry
• A competitive spirit
• Ability to connect with new guests and maintain greatest relationships with regulars
• A strong attention to detail
• The ability to comfortably carry up to 50lbs up and down stairs
• Previous experience as a Bar Back in a cocktail bar or restaurant with similar standards as Kees / Mixteca.
