The Opportunity :

The Packaging Engineering Manager is directly responsible for managing the work of the Packaging Engineers, ensuring that they are on track to meet the department and company goals. He / she is responsible for the success of key projects with key customers, resulting in additional business or meeting customer expectations.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions :

• Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
• Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assign projects to appropriate team members to ensure success
• Monitor and achieve the meeting of our cost savings commitments to our customers
• Direct and manage multiple projects with key customers while ensuring their success.
• Experience managing relationships with customers.
• Make day to day decisions that align with department budgetary guidelines
• Reviewing and approving PTO

What we offer :

The salary range for this position is $135,750.00 - $226,250.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state / local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
