(Hybrid) position in Pew's Finance department based in Washington, DC. The role supports the Manager, Program Planning and Budget and is eligible for hybrid work (three core days in office).
Position Overview
The Senior Associate supports the Manager, Program Planning and Budget in providing program units with full-service budgeting and financial services. They work directly with the program areas staff to create and monitor program budgets and forecasts, provide accurate and timely financial reporting, ensure compliance with policies and donor reporting requirements, and deliver high-level customer service.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Pews accounting, finance, budgeting, donor, procurement, and contracting policies, procedures, and practices and remain current as new policies are implemented.
- Work with program staff to monitor spending against budget; explain material budget variances; highlight areas of concern and propose options; and perform analytics to inform timely and accurate decision?making.
- Create and maintain budget templates; educate program staff on how to complete templates and interpret budget revenue and spending guidance; and ensure timely and accurate uploading into the appropriate PeopleSoft modules.
- Work with program staff and Pews Philanthropic Partnership Group to develop donor budget proposals, track donor spending in compliance with donor agreements, and provide donor financial reports.
- Deliver high?quality customer service to external and internal customers and develop strong relationships with identified customers.
- Prepare presentations and training to support the implementation / rollout of new or ongoing budget and financial management processes / process improvements.
Requirements
Generally requires 4 years of progressively responsible accounting / finance experience, and a bachelors degree or equivalent experience.Grant, contract, project, donor, or cost accounting experience is a plus.Business process improvement experience is a plus.Budgeting and maintaining forecasts skills.Strong analytical and customer service skills are required.ERP systems experience (PeopleSoft Financials a plus).MS?Excel expertise, including pivot tables, macros and importing / exporting data.Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills including the ability to effectively interface with staff and management.Travel
This position does not require travel.
Salary Range
$74,400 USD - $83,200 USD
