Must-Have : C-section experience required; proficiency in fetal monitoring and managing fetal distress; experience with pre-eclampsia and high-risk patients

Description :

The position requires working in the Labor and Delivery unit.

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2.

There are 7 Labor and Delivery beds, 2 Triage beds, and 10 Postpartum beds.

The unit experiences about 1-3 births per day, totaling approximately 830 births per year.

Nurses may float to other units as needed.

A respiratory therapist is available in the unit 24 / 7.

Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians and Health Unit Secretaries.

Nurse Managers may also attend to patients when necessary.

Clinical experience in obstetric emergencies is essential due to the absence of in-house obstetricians.

Candidates must be proficient in assessment skills to handle emergencies until providers arrive.

The unit's operational requirements include three weekend shifts per four-week schedule minimum.

There is a call requirement of one shift per four weeks.

Experience in couplet care is beneficial for the position.

The floating requirement may involve MedSurg units.

The unit has a 24 / 7 pharmacy on site.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

All certifications must be current and valid.
