At least 3–5 years of experience in estimating within commercial painting, drywall, or specialty contracting trades. Strong understanding of commercial and industrial paint systems, surface preparation, and coatings application. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Advanced mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sage Construction Manager, Stack, and Clearstory software. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines with an organized approach.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Paint Estimator to join our team in Southeast Mississippi. This role is essential in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial painting projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of commercial paint systems, ensuring competitive proposals that align with company goals for quality, safety, and profitability.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze bid invitations, project drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify the scope of work and resource requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for various finishing levels, coatings, wall coverings, and related systems.
- Determine necessary equipment, workforce, and subcontractor involvement to efficiently execute projects.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with project needs.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and proposals, including detailed breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Collaborate with business development teams to establish and maintain strong, precise relationships with clients.
- Work with project managers and field teams to review awarded bids, clarify production goals, and address scope details.
- Maintain accurate records of bid results, historical data, and pricing trends using estimating tools and databases.
- Utilize software platforms such as Stack, Sage Construction Manager, Excel, and Clearstory to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct site visits or pre-bid walkthroughs to assess project conditions and confirm quantity requirements.
