Job Summary (Mainframe Application Developer / Solution Architect - L3 Support Tech Lead)
- Lead Tier 3 mainframe application support for multiple telecom OSS systems (network planning, provisioning, dispatch, inventory, maintenance).
- Ensure 24 / 7 application stability, addressing production issues and system performance.
- Develop and maintain code in PL / I, Assembler, COBOL, SAS, REXX, CLIST, and JCL.
- Implement enhancements, bug fixes, and code vulnerability remediations.
- Perform platform upgrades (z / OS, DB2, IMS, SAS, Endevor) and support cross-team initiatives.
- Debug and resolve application abends using Abend-Aid, Fault Analyzer, and system dumps.
- Deploy changes through Endevor and manage source / version control processes.
- Support DB2 and IMS flows, including precompile, bind, and ACBGEN.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams on tickets, maintenance, and system interfaces.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to team members.
- Reverse engineer from load modules as needed for troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Work onsite 3 days per week at designated location.
Required Experience & Skills
10 15 years IBM z / OS application support and team leadership.5 7 years PL / I or COBOL development.Expertise in JCL, PROCs, REXX, CLIST, ISPF, SDSF.Strong experience with DB2 static SQL and IMS DB / DC.Proficient in Endevor or similar version control tools.Experience in reverse engineering and production support for critical systems.Preferred / Good to Have
Telecom OSS systems experience.SAS on z / OS and advanced dump analysis tools.Experience in 24 / 7 production support environments.Integration experience across IMS, DB2, and distributed / mainframe systems.Familiarity with NDM / Connect : Direct, MQ, SFTP, ZLinux, and USS.Education : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BE required).
