Solution Architect / Technical Manager Java, Data & Observability

Location : Charlotte, NC (Onsite / Hybrid as per company policy)

Summary

Seeking an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Manager with 10+ years of hands-on development experience and 5+ years in architecture and design. The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end technical solutions, lead complex projects, and act as the key technical representative for development teams. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Python, databases, data platforms, and enterprise-grade automation / observability solutions, along with excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture, design, and technical decision-making for complex, enterprise-grade applications.
  • Act as the primary technical representative for development teams; remove technology roadblocks across code, build, and deployment.
  • Design and implement secure, stable, and scalable solutions with low to moderate complexity, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk, security, and compliance standards.
  • Define and implement solution design, estimation, planning, and endtoend implementation, including change management and production rollout.
  • Architect, design, and roll out enterprise automation and observability solutions using tools such as Ansible, Grafana, Splunk, and Prometheus.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build data solutions using platforms such as Ab Initio and Teradata.
  • Work closely with developers, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of critical systems.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams; conduct code reviews and enforce best practices and coding standards.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical designs, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate technology and enterprise risks related to the solutions and platforms owned by the team.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on programming experience using Java, Python, and scripting languages.
  • Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and MongoDB.
  • 5+ years of hands-on architectural and solution design experience in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience functioning as a technical lead / technical manager, resolving technical roadblocks across development, build, and deployment.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise-grade automation and observability solutions, including design, development, and rollout using tools such as Ansible, Grafana, Splunk, and Prometheus.
  • Experience working with data platforms such as Ab Initio and Teradata.
  • 5+ years of experience in solution design, effort estimation, project planning, endtoend implementation, and change management.
  • Strong understanding of security, stability, scalability, and resilience concepts in application and platform design.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and drive them to successful completion.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in large, distributed enterprise environments (financial services or similar domain is a plus).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices (CI / CD, infrastructure as code) is an advantage.
  • Experience mentoring and growing engineering teams in a technical leadership capacity
