WMTC is seeking a passionate, skilled, and student-centered Medical Assistant – Clinical Instructor to lead hands-on lab instruction for our Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) cohorts.
This role is ideal for a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant who is enthusiastic about teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The Clinical Instructor plays a critical role in translating theory into real-world skill mastery, ensuring students demonstrate competency, professionalism, and clinical confidence prior to externship placement.
Facilitate in-person lab instruction aligned with national certification standards (NHA/NCCCT).
Teach and supervise core MA clinical skills including:
Vital signs & patient intake
Phlebotomy & specimen collection
EKG administration
Injections (IM, SubQ, ID – simulation)
Infection control & PPE
Clinical documentation & workflow
Evaluate student skill competency using standardized checklists.
Provide real-time coaching and corrective feedback.
Foster a positive, accountable, and professional classroom culture.
Model patient-centered communication and ethical conduct.
Reinforce employability skills (punctuality, teamwork, professionalism).
Support students preparing for externship placement.
Maintain attendance records and skills validation logs.
Ensure lab safety and adherence to OSHA standards.
Collaborate with Program Director and Director of Student Success regarding student performance.
Required:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience (ambulatory or outpatient preferred)
Active BLS certification
Strong communication and mentoring skills
Professional demeanor and high ethical standards
Preferred:
Prior teaching, training, or preceptor experience
Experience with NHA certification standards
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Familiarity with hybrid education models
