Litigation Associate

Victor Rane (www.victorrane.com) is a highly respected boutique litigation firm with offices in California, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.

Our practice areas include aviation, tort, products liability, commercial, insurance coverage, employment, and business litigation. We have experienced trial attorneys with large firm experience and diverse backgrounds.. We handle litigation matters for clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses to high-net-worth individuals.

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced civil litigation attorney with at least five years' experience. Aviation industry and / or aviation litigation experience is desirable, as is insurance defense experience.

• Job Summary

The Associate will assist in all facets of litigation, including factual and legal research, preparing memoranda, strategizing, summarizing voluminous information, and drafting various legal documents, including discovery documents, pleadings, correspondence, and motions. The Associate will also assist with, attend and / or conduct witness interviews, depositions, client meetings, court hearings, mediations and trials, as well as provide support for the same. The Associate may be asked to attend various firm and client relations / business development events. Any of the forgoing may require local and long-distance travel by car and / or plane.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school and active CA Bar membership
• 5+ years' experience in civil defense litigation
• Specialization or significant experience in the aviation industry, aviation law and / or insurance defense law is desirable.
• Strong writing and legal research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency with technology necessary for efficient in-office and remote work
