Compensation Range: $45-51/hour W2
Job Description:
Senior-level Project Manager responsible for leading complex, high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives within a structured, waterfall-driven PMO environment.
This role is a Senior PM and supports high-visibility, compliance-driven initiatives within a structured PMO. The ideal candidate is a consultative, executive-facing Project Manager with deep waterfall experience who can lead complex stakeholder groups and drive clarity in ambiguous environments. Requiring PMs with functional business exposure.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Lead complex, high-visibility projects across business and functional teams
Partner with senior managers and directors to define business problems and solutions
Facilitate discovery sessions to clarify scope, risks, and outcomes
Drive process improvement initiatives including gap analysis and workflow redesign
Manage vendor-led SaaS system implementations
Develop and maintain detailed project plans using structured waterfall methodology
Utilize enterprise PM tools (e.g., SmartSheet, MS Project) for documentation and tracking
Present updates to steering committees and executive leadership
Guide change management efforts across compliance-heavy environments
Ensure proper documentation, risk management, and policy alignment
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
7 years of project management experience (senior-level preferred)
Strong business-side/functional PM experience (not IT-only)
Heavy waterfall methodology expertise
PMP certification strongly preferred
Experience in documentation-heavy, compliance-driven environments
Advanced knowledge of PMBOK principles
Experience leading cross-functional, high-visibility initiatives
Executive-level presentation and communication skills
Strong stakeholder facilitation and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency with enterprise PM tools (SmartSheet, MS Project, etc.)
Ability to influence without direct authority
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in healthcare, research, academic, or hospital environments
Research administration exposure
Lean Six Sigma or process improvement certification
Knowledge of BABOK guidelines
Change management and risk management expertise
Hybrid waterfall/agile experience (with strong waterfall foundation)
