Job Summary

The Payroll Tax Manager provide expertise on multi-state payroll regulations, including Federal, State wage / hour regulations (FLSA) and best payroll and tax practices

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-state payroll tax data, perform calculations to ensure that payroll information is reported to federal, state and local agencies
• Responsible for the weekly administration of payroll tax activities (federal, state, local withholdings) for assigned legal entities including distributions of tax remittances according to tax jurisdiction guidelines
• Assist in the preparation and processing of accurate and timely federal, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments and handle incoming inquiries from employees
• Responsible for the Quality Assurance of W2 corrections and reissues
• Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, providing clear explanations to employees
• Perform and build compliance and year end reporting
• Design, document, and review payroll tax processing procedures
• Perform tax reconciliations and determine liability for accounts, divisions, or business units.
• Oversee the management and upkeep of the escheatment process
• Responsible for management of the overpayment process
• Oversee legal audits (wage & hour, DOL and state). Liaison with internal teams to collect and submit requested documents
• Garnishment Management of documents and files with vendor
