Please come join our team as a Maintenance Engineer at the Hilton Garden Inn Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel. We are looking for an experienced hotel maintenance engineer. Previous hotel experience is required, previous Hilton experience very helpful. Local candidates only, non-smoking position.

BASIC PURPOSE : Develop, implement and manage emergency programs, programs for the operations & maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate / franchise standards, local, state & national codes and regulations to protect the assets, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses and maximize customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Perform routine and ad hoc maintenance and repair tasks in hotel guestrooms and related areas (75%).

2. Execute manual engineering tasks when on duty as needed and as per tickets or guest related impact items. (20%)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested. (5%)

Knowledge and Skills :

Education : More than two years of post-high school education, but less than a degree from a four-year college.

Experience : Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other hospitality organization(s)

Skills and Abilities : Requires advanced knowledge of Building Management / Engineering. May require considerable working knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skills to integrate and communicate that information. Requires analyzing activities and / or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions. Requires management skills. Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests.

Travel required : Minimal, training classes, vendors, task force, etc.
