Job Description
\n Advise and collaborate in designing flock health, vaccination and coccidiosis control programs.
\n Lead efforts in improving poultry husbandry and animal welfare.
\n Assist in cross training poultry health, welfare and husbandry.
\n Collaborate with Director of Hatchery Services to develop and implement hatch quality programs.
\n Collaborate with Broiler Departments in litter management, ventilation and brooding to ensure good chick quality and poultry livability.
\n Develop a working knowledge of industry benchmarking reports, and how health programs impact this ranking.
\n Collaborate with nutritionist on feed programs, with responsibility for VFD compliance.
\n Evaluate feed programs.
\n Assist in managing the Company's animal welfare program.
\n All other relevant projects and duties as assigned.
\n
\n Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with further poultry studies acquired through formal training or through demonstrated work experience in the poultry industry required.
\n Must hold a state license to practice veterinary medicine and be a USDA APHIS accredited food animal veterinarian.
\n After joining Koch Foods, must obtain licensure in TN, AL, GA, and MS.
\n 5+ years' experience in poultry industry live operations required.
\n 5+ years related supervisor experience.
\n Knowledge of Certified Humane standards.
\n Organized and able to work independently.
\n Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n Excellent technology, computer, math and analytical skills.
