Job Description

Directly manage a growing team of approximately 2-4 staff members. Responsible for staffing activities, including interviewing, training, performance evaluations, guiding workload, providing coaching, and managing corrective action when needed. Ensure all leadership actions align with company standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee day-to-day performance of customer operations and purchasing, ensuring responsive communication with clients and suppliers. Establish and uphold service benchmarks such as inquiry response times, quote turnaround, order confirmations, supplier commitments, and delivery accuracy. Monitor and report on essential business performance indicators. Serve as a primary contact for escalated customer or supplier issues, driving timely resolutions and supporting root-cause analysis. Manage processes related to aging or obsolete inventory. Act as a liaison with internal teams to support cross-functional needs and resolve operational roadblocks. Approve setup and onboarding for new customers and vendors. Provide regular reporting on sales performance compared to targets. Complete additional assignments as directed by leadership.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchasing / Customer Service Manager should have : Bachelor's degree and / or 5-7 years of relevant experience in purchasing, operations, customer service, or a related field. 2+ years of leadership / supervisor experience. Proficiency with business software such as inventory and contract management systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Epicor or similar ERP platforms is beneficial. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
