The Childrens School seeks an experienced full-time Long-Term Substitute Teacher for 4s / 5s to start immediately through December 19 2025.
The Long-Term Substitute Lead Teacher at The Childrens School (TCS) is responsible for student learning classroom instruction and management and curriculum creation / implementation in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School in the core subject areas or in a specialty area depending on the teaching role and grade-level position.
Day to day a Long-Term Substitute Lead Teacher will :
Communicate collaborate plan and work effectively in teaching partnerships
Motivate nurture and challenge students
Play a meaningful role in each students daily school life
Co-plan engaging curriculum and contribute to the effective operation of the overall educational program
Help plan and carry out daily activities and evaluate the effectiveness of those activities
Establish and maintain a creative self-directed collaborative and culturally inclusive learning environment
Gather formative and formal feedback about student progress to guide student learning
Assist with evaluating progress report writing and family conferences
Ensure the safety and well-being of the children
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Minimum Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Applicable experience working with children through a child development lens
Understands child development
Skilled at establishing meaningful relationships with students as a critical foundation for student engagement and academic achievement

Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience teaching children in a classroom setting preferably in elementary grades
Bachelors degree in Education or related field which includes a Child Development focus
Passion for and experience in the work of diversity equity and inclusion
