Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Horse Handler / Equestrian Assistant to assist with horse and pony rides and, if qualified, help with beginner to intermediate lessons. This role involves hands-on care, guest interaction, and teamwork to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both our visitors and our horses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle and prepare ponies and horses for rides and lessons.
  • Lead pony rides safely and professionally for children and families.
  • Assist with feeding, grooming, and basic horse care as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the barn and riding areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and animal-handling protocols.
  • (If experienced) Assist with or instruct basic riding lessons under supervision.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent the ranch positively.

    • Qualifications

  • Prior horse-handling experience required.
  • Experience working with children or in a public farm environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working around large animals.
  • Riding instruction experience is a plus but not required.
