Sr. Software Development Manager

Were seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead the S3 Capacity Management organization. This role is critical in ensuring Amazon S3s infrastructure scales efficiently to meet global customer demand. Youll lead teams responsible for developing and maintaining systems that forecast order fulfill and provision capacity for one of the worlds largest storage services. Additionally you will partner with AWS Infrastructure Services to optimize our supply chain planning and manufacturing processes to support S3s unique use cases.

Utility Computing (UC)

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities

Lead multiple software development teams focused on capacity management systems and automation

Drive the technical vision for S3s capacity forecasting procurement and provisioning systems

Collaborate with hardware engineering supply chain and data center teams to optimize capacity deployment

Develop and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to predict S3s global capacity needs

Own critical capacity management metrics and create data-driven strategies for infrastructure growth

Design and implement systems for automated capacity provisioning and optimization

Partner with Finance and Supply Chain teams to optimize infrastructure investments

Lead continuous improvement in capacity planning accuracy and efficiency

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198100 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $342300 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and / or other benefits.
