Robotics Mechanical Engineer
We are excited to partner with a cutting-edge robotics company that is dedicated to building complex electro-mechanical systems, where your designs can directly impact real-world performance. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about not just designing parts, but also taking full ownership of motion, reliability, and scalability in product development.
What You'll Do
- Lead the mechanical design of intricate electro-mechanical systems with moving components from start to finish.
- Create and prototype innovative mechanisms and actuators under tight deadlines.
- Advance prototypes through to high-volume production , ensuring quality at every step.
- Design parts with a strong focus on manufacturing processes such as :
- Injection molding
- Die casting
- Stamping / sheet metal
- Extrusion
- Powder metal / MIM
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to meet design for manufacturing (DFM) , reliability, and cost objectives.
- Build systems that are not only stylish but also robust, testable, and scalable .
What We're Looking For
Exceptional mechanical intuition —you grasp how components move, fail, and can be improved.Proven ability to rapidly design and prototype without compromising on thoroughness.A history of delivering reliable hardware products at scale.Extensive hands-on experience with custom mechanisms, joints, transmissions, and actuators .Experience managing mechanical architecture for complex systems under dynamic loads and tight tolerances.Ability to thrive in environments with ambiguity, tight timelines, and high expectations.Required Background
Currently employed in a hands-on mechanical role at a robotics company .Background in electro-mechanical systems featuring real moving parts (beyond just CAD-focused work).Demonstrated experience taking designs from concept through to prototype and volume production .Ideal Signals
Experience designing robotic arms, legs, mobile platforms, end-effectors, or actuation systems.Direct involvement in selecting motors, gearing, kinematics, or load paths.Close collaboration with electrical and controls engineering teams.A strong inclination towards execution and ownership rather than just documentation and theory.
