Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Marketer to join our winning team serving the San Gabriel Valley community. Knowledge of the San Gabriel Valley market is strongly preferred.
Position Summary
The Marketer is responsible for developing and growing census by expanding market presence, cultivating strong referral relationships, and supporting prospective residents and their families throughout the decision-making process. This role is heavily focused on revenue-generating activities such as census management, inquiry management, external sales calls, and community education, while also contributing to customer service, public relations, and administrative tasks. The Marketer works closely with the Administrator and facility leadership to ensure seamless admissions, excellent customer service, and a strong community presence.
All employees must pass the required state background check prior to working with residents.
Qualifications
Education :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Two years of sales / marketing or Admissions Coordinator experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Licenses / Certification :
Valid driver’s license.
Experience :
Six months of long-term care experience preferred.
Three to four years of experience in sales / marketing or a customer-service–focused role.
Community outreach or community involvement experience is preferred.
Essential Functions
Develop and maintain relationships across the healthcare community to promote the facility.
Build strong referral partnerships with hospital discharge planners and actively request referrals.
Participate in daily stand-up meetings and communicate regularly with the Administrator and department heads regarding admissions and census.
Conduct facility rounds with leadership to ensure a high-quality presentation.
Provide tours to prospective residents and families and ensure rooms are prepared for new admissions.
Lead the bed management process, recommending and communicating admission decisions.
Model exceptional customer service and train staff on customer satisfaction principles.
Monitor and follow up on inquiries promptly, maintaining updated bed availability and service information.
Conduct daily follow-up on active or pending inquiries and manage the admission process.
Conduct post-discharge follow-up with residents and families.
Develop and maintain a robust network of referral sources; track referral metrics and maintain a key account list.
Conduct external sales calls to hospitals, physicians, case managers, and community organizations.
Plan and implement community education events and presentations.
Maintain knowledge of Medicare / Medicaid regulations, industry trends, and reimbursement guidelines; communicate relevant updates to staff and referral partners.
Prepare complete admission packets and ensure all required paperwork is signed prior to move-in.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
Participate in community events with the Administrator.
Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and referral outcomes.
Complete other duties as assigned and uphold company policies, laws, and professional standards.
