The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

This position is within the ENG-WR group of E92. This person provides engineering review of Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) and other carrier engineering build authority documents, primarily within the electrical discipline. These reviews are performed within a model based manufacturing environment.

Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;

Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

Experience with carrier engineering technical authority and build authority documents. Engineering experience within the carrier program is highly preferred. Experience as a piping engineer is preferred. Experience using Team Center, NGP, NX, and SAP is highly preferred, but not required. Understands and applies engineering procedures to manufacturing processes and production methods within a model based environment. Eagerness and willingness to learn, enjoys working on teams and the ability to embrace change and adapt quickly.
