The Senior Controller will be the senior leader responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, and financial controls. This role ensures the company's financial health, supports global operations, and provides actionable financial insights to executive leadership. Reporting to the CEO the Controller will be a key business partner — offering financial guidance to support operations, sales, rentals, service, and international business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting and finance operations : general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, inter-company transactions (if applicable), and consolidation.

Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles; prepare accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements) for internal and external stakeholders.

Develop, implement and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and business planning.

Perform variance analysis (budget vs actual), highlight trends, risks, and opportunities; provide recommendations to optimize financial performance, reduce costs, and improve profitability.

Oversee tax compliance (federal, state, local), regulatory reporting, and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.

Support strategic growth initiatives, including evaluation of capital expenditures, investments, global operations, and support for cross-border financial operations (if applicable — e.g., international sales, inter-company transfers, foreign transactions).

Serve as a business partner to executive leadership and department heads (Operations, Sales, Service, Rental, Supply Chain) — provide financial insights to support growth, pricing, cost control, and global expansion.

Manage and mentor the accounting / finance team, promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and professional development

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

7+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience, ideally in industrial manufacturing, equipment rental / service, or distribution business. Experience with global or multi-entity operations is a significant plus.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, financial regulations, internal controls, and audit processes.

Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Leadership and team-management skills — ability to lead or build a finance / accounting team, set standards, and mentor staff.

Experience supporting global sales / service business — familiarity with international transactions, inter-company accounting, foreign currency exchange, and cross-border compliance is a plus.

Comfortable with ERP / Accounting software, and able to adapt to a company with diverse operations (sales, rental, service, repairs, training) and multiple revenue streams.
