Job Summary
Provides genetic education, counseling, generation pedigree construction, risk assessment, genetic testing, and support to patients with personal and / or family history of cancer. Obtains necessary information to provide counseling on appropriate tests and interpretation of test results. Acts as a liaison between providers, geneticists, laboratories, and clinical staff regarding genetic testing and follow-up care. Documents patient encounters and all pertinent information clearly and concisely in the patient record in compliance with applicable standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education : Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling
Minimum Years of Experience : None.
Substitutable Education & Experience : None.
Required Certifications / Licensure : Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) credential through the American Board of Genetic Counseling at time of hire or must obtain within 12 months of hire into role.
