Lead Accountant

ADP is hiring a Lead Accountant. The Lead Accountant works on highly complex reports and projects using extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices. May directs activities related to maintaining ledger accounts, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal entries, vouchers, and accounting classifications for accurate reporting. This work may be performed by associates in the US or offshore. Broad knowledge of accounting systems and recommends changes to currently used systems to expedite problems. Assists in developing and making recommendations on accounting procedures and methods. Directs the daily activities of accounting associates and provides direction and training to less experienced Accounts. Provides feedback to the Manager and / or Director regarding performance reviews as well as hiring and firing decisions within the department. Responsibilities :

• Responsible for accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.
• Classifies, examines and analyzes accounting records and prepares related financial reports and statements.
• Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
• Complies and analyzes financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documents business transactions.
• Establishes, maintains and coordinates the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
