The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander / director for administrative support programs. Responsibilities include directly assisting the commander / director in the management of all administrative support program functions, serving as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs, and acting as a unit liaison to the military and civilian personnel offices. Other clerical and administrative work in support of the office / organization is also performed.
Qualifications include meeting the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-5, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include cybersecurity liaison (CL), Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator, drug demand reduction program, health care program, fitness program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, safety program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, security program, supply program, civilian timecard program and unit recognition program.
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-5 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-6 level. Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the following areas : knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization, knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems, ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines, and ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.
