Overview
Piper Companies is seeking a Superintendent / Quality Control Manager (QCM) to support a federal TSA construction project at the Denver Federal Center. This individual will oversee day‑to‑day field operations while leading all Quality Control activities in alignment with federal specifications and project requirements.
This position requires a technically strong candidate who understands Division 01 specifications, federal QC processes, and can bridge communication between office-driven QC processes and field execution.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the project’s Primary Quality Control Manager ensuring compliance with federal QC standards and project specifications.
- Review and interpret Division 01 and 6‑digit federal specification sections to guide field operations and QC documentation.
- Manage, track, and improve the submittal process (Excel-based templates).
- Provide Superintendent-level field oversight, ensuring schedule, safety, and quality benchmarks are met.
- Conduct QA/QC inspections and coordinate corrective actions.
- Communicate closely with subcontractors, field personnel, and project management teams.
- Parse and validate product data across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty trades.
- Support rework and oversight on concrete, masonry, and historical building elements.
- Leverage Bluebeam and Excel to generate clear, organized, and presentable documentation.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in construction with relevant QC or Superintendent background.
- Federal Quality Control experience is required.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal divisions and 6‑digit specifications.
- Experience overseeing or contributing to $20M–$50M projects.
- Strong technical proficiency and ability to bridge office QC processes with field execution.
- Expert-level Excel skills (building structured spreadsheets, documentation templates, etc.).
- Strong Bluebeam experience.
- Typing speed of 50–60+ WPM.
- QC training or certification (EM‑385 NOT required).
- U.S. Citizenship
Preferred:
- Experience supporting GSA, TSA, or other federal agencies.
- Background in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or general trades.
- Previous work on concrete, masonry, or historical building refurbishments.
