Quality Control Inspector

Blue Marble Communications is currently seeking to hire a mid-level Quality Control Inspector to join the team in Poway, CA. This person will be responsible for checking product conformance at Receiving Inspection (RI), In Process, and at Final Inspection (FI). This position will require the candidate to work on site and have prior electronics inspection experience. The candidate must be a self-starter with good time management skills, a great attitude, and very strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements (e.g. statement of work, specification) and industry standards like J-STD-001 to determine conformance
• Inspect Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Printed Circuit Card Assemblies (PCBAs), mechanical and optical assemblies, cables, etc. for nonconformances like damage, insufficient solder, missing components, scratches, etc.
• Measure metal housings, covers, etc. using micrometers, calipers, go / no-go gages, etc. for nonconformances like incorrect dimensioning
• Compare parts against drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and assembly to ensure correct configuration
• Assist with execution of all quality programs (e.g. ESD, FOD, auditing)
• Generate Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) for items that do not comply with internal / external requirements
• Validate test stations are configured, as required, per test procedures
• Work nights and / or weekends if necessary
