Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Indibar supports the General Manager in overseeing all front-of-house and certain back-of-house operations. This role focuses on guest experience, team leadership, operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of service, food safety, and bar excellence.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Leadership
Ensure exceptional hospitality and a welcoming environment for every guest.
Address guest concerns and service issues promptly and professionally.
Maintain high standards of food, beverage and service quality at all times.
Support development and execution of seasonal menus, cocktail programs, and events.
Operational & Floor Management
Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Manage reservations, seating flow, and service coordination during peak hours.
Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service and health regulations.
Monitor cleanliness, ambiance, and overall presentation of the venue.
Team Leadership & Training
Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising front-of-house staff.
Coach team members to deliver consistent, exceptional guest service.
Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing training for menu knowledge and bar programs.
Help foster a positive, collaborative and professional work environment.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Support cost-control initiatives, including labor management, inventory and waste reduction.
Assist with ordering supplies, managing vendor relationships and maintaining stock levels.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and daily / weekly financial reporting.
Help manage payroll, scheduling and administrative documentation.
Bar Program & Beverage Oversight
Work closely with the bar manager / mixologist to maintain high-quality cocktail operations.
Ensure adherence to recipes, consistency and responsible alcohol service.
Assist with training staff on cocktail preparation, beer / wine knowledge and service standards.
Leadership & Strategic Support
Collaborate with the General Manager to execute long-term operational goals.
Implement systems and processes that improve service, efficiency and profitability.
Support marketing efforts, special events and guest engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
2–4 years of restaurant or bar management experience (craft cocktail or upscale dining preferred).
Strong knowledge of food service, bar operations and hospitality best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Familiarity with POS systems, reservation platforms, scheduling tools and inventory software.
ServSafe and / or alcohol service certification (preferred).
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
