Position Title : CNC Machinist / Milling Process Technician

Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist / CNC Milling Process Technician to join our precision machining team. This position involves complete ownership of the milling process - from quoting and programming to setup and optimization. The ideal candidate has a solid background in CNC horizontal and vertical milling, excellent blueprint reading skills, and a deep understanding of tooling, fixturing, and process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Program, quote, and set up new parts for both vertical and horizontal CNC milling centers.
- Review and interpret blueprints, part prints, and engineering drawings to ensure manufacturing accuracy.
- Estimate cycle times and determine tooling and fixturing requirements for new jobs.
- Work with suppliers to source tooling and improve process efficiency.
- Prepare machines for operation, including setup of fixtures, tools, and coordinate systems.
- Write and modify CNC programs using CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred) and G-code editing.
- Conduct first-piece inspections and verify conformance to specifications.
- Continuously monitor machining operations, making adjustments to maintain quality and precision.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and develop process improvements to increase throughput and consistency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine machining methods and document best practices.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 3 years' experience in CNC horizontal and vertical milling within a precision environment.Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining processes.Skilled in quoting, programming, and setup of new parts and production runs.Ability to select and procure tooling and fixturing with vendor support.Proficient with CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred) and G-code programming / editing.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.Preferred Skills :
Experience with multi-axis machining centers.Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.Prior work experience in an ISO-certified facility.Compensation & Benefits :
