School 1.1 Nurse (LPN) - Weekly Pay

The Amergis Staffing Team is currently seeking SchoolNurses!

Shift Length : 7.5 hours (30 minute break)

Shift : Monday - Friday; Hours based on School Site

Benefits : Weekly Pay, Full Benefits including Medical, Vision,Dental, 401k

Length of Contract : Full School Year

Requirements : Must have at least 1 year of pediatric experience (ex.homecare, schools, hospital, etc.)

The School Nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofstudent / client care and / or contracted services in a school setting. The SchoolNurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contracted services. TheSchool Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare Staffing'sphilosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities :

Changes in condition of student

Physician notification to obtain necessary orders

Collaborates with school / education personnel / other health agencies as requested, to design and meet student's health care needs

Evaluates and assures student safety at all times

Adheres to Amergis and school district policies

Maintains accuracy in student health record

Supports professional practice by observing the following :

Nurse Practice Act

Standards of Nursing Practice

Standards of Patient Care

Standards of accrediting body (The Joint Commission)

State laws

Educational Codes and Federal Laws as described in the ADA and IDEA

Patient Bill of Rights

Amergis Healthcare and school district policies

At request of school district participates in student care conferences / Individualized Education Program (IEP)

LPN / LVNs should direct questions regarding orders and changes in condition to a Supervising RN (DN and / or Clinical Supervisor)

Performs other duties as assigned / necessary

Minimum Requirements :

Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program

Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

One year of professional experience, preferred

Current CPR

PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
