ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT TECHNICIAN II

General Superintendent

Responsible supervisory and sub-professional engineering work of moderate technical difficulty in the investigation, inspection and control of all water quality factors; and related work as required.

A High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Diploma and a minimum of sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university with at least sixteen (16) hours in engineering, chemistry, biology or closely related environmental science courses, plus a minimum of three (3) semester hours in mathematics. AND EITHER : Permanent status and two (2) years of full-time experience as an Engineering Technician, Environmental Enforcement Technician I, Waste Treatment Plant Operator II or III, or Water Purification Operator III. OR : Four (4) years of full-time experience in the field of water treatment, waste treatment or environmental compliance inspection of storm water / waste water discharges with a municipality parish, county or other recognized jurisdiction, including private water or waste water operating companies. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and certificates claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years. This is an original entrance and promotional examination.
