Position description

The successful candidate will be working closely with Professor Chenzi Xu and collaborators on academic research in the area of international finance / trade and economic history. The candidate will be exposed to all parts of the research process from idea formation to article revision.

Duties will include :

• Assistance with historical data collection and creation (including from novel primary sources) of international banking patterns. This will entail collecting and summarizing qualitative sources as well as cleaning quantitative sources
• Assistance with literature review and analysis of laws related to historical banking patterns in the US
• Assistance with preliminary empirical analysis and data visualization on projects related to trade financing, international trade, and international finance
