Schedule : Wednesday-Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm (Part-Time to start; Full-Time by April)
Pay : $25 / hr part-time $22 / hr once full-time

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing vision rehabilitation and pediatric optometry practice. This is a unique opportunity to support Dr. Kyle , one of the only Optometrists in the city specializing in Vision Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Youth Athlete Hand-Eye Performance, and Neuro-Vision Recovery.
As the first technician hired for this new practice, you will play a critical role in helping build and scale the clinic. Long-term, this role has potential to grow into a Lead / Supervisor Ophthalmic Technician position as additional staff are hired.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Intake & Flow
Room patients efficiently, ensuring comfort and privacy.
Manage a daily patient load of 10-12 patients .
Conduct detailed intake using a structured set of 15+ micro-level questions .
Gather past eye procedures, medical background, and general vision history.
Clinical Diagnostics
Perform basic eye exams under physician guidance.
Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields and refractions .
Assist the provider with required paperwork and EMR documentation.
Prep Work & Support
Review referring documents and highlight critical details for the provider.
Translate referring documents into electronic records for visit preparation.
Secure external test results prior to appointments.
Provide phone support to patients and referring offices, including setting expectations for 1-3 hour appointment durations .
Compliance & Professionalism
Maintain organized, HIPAA-compliant patient files.
Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
Stay informed on updates in ophthalmic and optometric procedures and technology.

Must-Have Qualifications
Preferable Optometry or Ophthalmic Technician experience .
Knowledge of optometry terminology (refraction, visual field, etc.).
Strong communication and questioning skills for patient intake.
Comfortable learning-Dr. Kyle provides training on specialized tests.
