SCOPE OF POSITION

Sterile Supply Technician II is responsible for the basic decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments required for medical procedures. This role ensures that surgical instruments are cleaned, processed, and stored properly to maintain patient safety and prevent infections. Sterile Supply Technician II functions as an essential member of the Central Sterile Processing team and supports multiple reprocessing sites across the Medical Center.

POSITION SUMMARY

Sterile Supply Technician II performs routine tasks associated with the cleaning, inspection, sorting, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. This includes decontaminating reusable instruments, completing post decontamination responsibilities, assembling instrument sets, peel packing / wrapping and preparing trays for sterilization, completing the sterilization process, ensuring proper storage, maintaining eyewash stations and records. The role requires adherence to established protocols and standards to support patient safety and efficient surgical procedures. This is an entry level position that works under the supervision of senior sterile processing staff and leadership.

High School Diploma or equivalent
