At the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF), an Education Program Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing cardiovascular innovation through education. In this position, you do more than organize training sessions or manage logistics—you help create meaningful learning experiences that empower healthcare professionals, support research excellence, and strengthen MHIF’s mission to improve heart health and save lives.
Job Summary :
The Education Specialist contributes to the mission of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) through coordination and execution of community and professional education communications, programs, projects and events. The responsibilities of the Education Specialist include content development, logistics coordination, fundraising support, grant writing and relationship management. The Education Specialist is a member of the Education team and works directly with Marketing and Communications, and collaboratively all MHIF functions and key stakeholders at Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute®, and participates in managing relationships with external partners, including industry and consultants.
Key Responsibilities :
Education Program Coordination
- Assist community and professional education program planning and operations such as room scheduling, detail management, event promotion and technology support
- Support Continuing Medical Education logistics for Professional Education programs such as Grand Rounds, key opinion leader gatherings, conferences and summits.
- Assist in marketing communications efforts for education events and programs in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure outcome goals
- Coordinate faculty relationships, including travel arrangements and document tracking
- Coordinate research internship education experience operations and logistics
- Stay current on education technology and AV advances, modes of learning and opportunities to advance education through new approaches
- Capture and analyze data to evaluate program progress against goals and overall event success and return
Education Content Development and Distribution
Assist team(s) in basic messaging and communications through online activities, social media and print publicationsSupport print, online, and video educational content development and publication and distribution process and opportunitiesGrant Writing and Coordination
Manage the entire end to end education grant prospecting and planning process aligned with education department strategy, financial goals and program outcome expectationsRelationship Management
Work with Development, Education, Research, Marketing and Communications, and other relationship owners to secure and deliver value to sponsors and other key stakeholdersProvide a high-level of customer service to all professional education customers including MHIF staff, MHI, physicians and other key stakeholdersCore Values in Action

Required
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or experience in education program deliveryStrong verbal and written communication skills; experience in keeping multi-faceted stakeholders up-to-dateAbility to manage multiple projects and work assignments, working with staff and volunteers while adhering to strict deadlines and timelinesAbility to work both independently and as part of a team in support of a positive work cultureAbility to lead through influence, leveraging relationship building skillsA positive, solution-focused, customer service orientationEnjoys working in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environmentEnjoys working with technology and trouble shoot technology challengesProficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Basic knowledge or desire to develop a competence in Teams, Zoom, Salesforce, Classy and other technology platforms as neededRelationships :
This position reports to the VP of Marketing, Communications and Education with reporting alignment to the Sr. Manager of Community and Professional Education.
