Essential Job Functions
- Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects
- Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning
- Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments
- Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals
- Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
- Contribute to software development projects by writing, testing, and debugging code, under the guidance of senior team members
- Collaborate with the team to meet project objectives, actively participating in code reviews and design discussions
- Assist in the documentation of software requirements and specifications, striving for clear and effective communication
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, seeking guidance and mentorship
- Learn and adapt to software development practices and methodologies, actively participating in training programs
- Contribute to the implementation of best practices and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with team members to enhance your understanding of software architecture and design
- Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and learning environment
Mandatory Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) is required1-2 years of relevant Mainframe application developer experience is mandatoryOracle Documaker experience in the insurance industry will be preferredProficiency in 1 or more software programming languages : CICS and / or Cobol are requiredDevelopment methodologies : Waterfall and / or Agile are requiredCoding and debugging skills are requiredEffective communication and collaboration abilitiesStrong problem-solving mindsetWillingness to learn and adapt to the fieldGood technical and analytical skillExceptional attention to detail and documentation skillsTime management and multitasking abilityStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work well within a teamPreferred Diplomas / Studies / Certifications :
Any exposure or certification in Life and Annuity Insurance domain will be preferredLOMA is preferredCertifications in AWS, Azure or other Cloud technologiesWork Environment :

This position is hybrid and may require 2 days commute to our office. Candidates must live within a 20-25 miles commutable distanceOur operational hours are 7 : 30 am to 10pm.
