Department Information

Stamps Health Services is an outpatient ambulatory care center that provides health care and health education to students and their spouses / domestic partners. The center is located in a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility within the Joseph Brown Whitehead Building, next to our Campus Recreation Center. Stamps Health Services provides care in six areas : Primary care, Women's health, Psychiatry, Travel / Immunization / Allergy, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic Services (lab and radiology). Primary Care Clinic is the largest of the clinics at Stamps Health Services and sees approximately 24,000 visits / year.

Job Summary

Provide direct supportive patient care to eligible patients under the direction of nurses and providers. The Medical Assistant works closely and collaborates with providers, nurses, and the patient care team to support clinic functions. Position reports to and is directly supervised by the Nursing Manager or the Manager, Women's Health. Interact with students, nursing staff, physicians, medical records, cashier, laboratory, pharmacy.,

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Provide care to patients, and directly assists clinicians in treating patients.

Administer select medications applying the Six Rights of Medication.

Check and maintain clinic supplies and equipment.

Job Duty 3 -

Provide supporting clerical functions as needed to facilitate patient flow.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications

The job requires one who is task and detail inixperienceted; flexible, and able to perfinm multiple, various tasks concurrxperiencetly. Excellxperiencet communications skills are required as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that are varied di nature.
