Do you love sports and enjoy working with kids? The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic and dependable Youth Sports Instructors to help young athletes (ages 4-13) learn, grow, and have fun through sports!

This is a great opportunity to share your passion for the game, build leadership skills, and make a difference in your community - all while having fun on the field or in the gym.
What You'll Do

As a Youth Sports Instructor, you'll:

• Coach practices, camps, and clinics that focus on skill development, safety, teamwork, and fun.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for every child.
• Supervise participants to ensure safe and fair play.
• Lead by example-teaching sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Handle equipment and supplies responsibly and keep accurate attendance or incident reports.

Every day, you'll be helping kids discover new skills, gain confidence, and build lasting friendships through sports.
About You

You enjoy working with children and have a passion for sports. You're patient, dependable, and bring enthusiasm to every practice or game.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in education, recreation, or a similar setting
• At least 1 year of experience playing or coaching multiple sports
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Pay & Perks

• Pay Rate: $15 per hour
• Flexible, part-time hours based on programming needs
• Evening and weekend availability may be required
• Discounted program registrations and 10% off one room or shelter rental per year
