Senior Manager, Financial Accounting

LOCATION : Chicago, IL

ORGANIZATION : Large Multinational U.S. Based Law Firm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Guide general ledger accounting and operations
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions
• Manage Firm chart of accounts
• Lead monthly and annual accounting close process
• Manage all financial reporting related to the global firm’s annual financial statements
• Lead the accounting team in the Firm’s annual external financial statement audits
• Oversee accounting operations and external audits for the Firm’s Investment Partnerships
• Manage fixed asset accounting and reporting
• Provide guidance regarding accounting policy
• Manage and develop direct reports
• Develop and lead change management efforts
• Align accounting processes with strategic initiatives

REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation required
• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience required
• 5+ years of experience managing people required; proven change management skills
• Prior tenure in public accounting or other professional services company is highly desired
• Working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Word and Excel
• PowerBI, Tableau, OneStream or Elite 3E experience is a plus
• Perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients and attorneys while producing a high quality work product
• Able to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently
