Job Title : Shipfitter / Stick Welder - Newport News, VA

$45 / hour & $140 in per diem

This position is located in Newport News, Virginia!!

We are seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our team. You would be responsible for working on the next generation of the Naval fleet, focusing on aircraft carriers and submarines.

Responsibilities : This position is located in Newport News, Virginia!!

• Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
• Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen / propane burning torches.
• Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
• Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
• Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.
• Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
• Utilize vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00 / hr.
