About the Department

The Operational Performance Training and Integration (OAT) Department supports the System Operations and Market Administration business units through change management and continual process improvement. Our work includes bespoke software tool development, software testing, data analysis, training, and strategic planning-all designed to improve efficiency and reliability across the organization.

What You'll Be Working On

• As an Operations Process Automation Developer Intern, you will :
• Review existing software and processes used by System Operations and Market Administration teams to identify areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain bespoke software solutions.
• Perform occasional data analysis to support departmental decision-making.
• Collaborate with OAT staff and SOMA business teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives.

How You'll Make an Impact

This internship will give you hands-on experience in applying software development and data analysis skills to real-world problems that directly support ISO New England's mission. You'll gain exposure to the electricity industry, from operational processes to market administration, while learning how automation and technology drive efficiency. By contributing fresh perspectives and technical expertise, you'll help improve workflows, tools, and decision-making processes across the organization.

What We Look For in a Candidate

The expected hourly range for this position is $19 - $33 per hour, depending on your year in college. Interns are eligible for some paid time off benefits and have access to our wellness program. Our internships also provide interns with exposure to the energy industry, mentorships, and real-world experience.

This is a U.S. based role. If the successful candidate resides outside of the U.S., relocation will be required.

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
