Dispatcher - Control Tower

The Control Tower Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling drivers, communicating with our internal healthcare locations, communicating with our clients, creating reports, monitoring drivers, communicating with peers and overseeing daily logistic functions. Primary Duties include : logging all orders booked and all work performed onto dispatch sheet, dispatching all runs in a timely manner to ensure deliveries are made as scheduled, providing customers with accurate and timely information regarding activity, assisting Terminal Manager in all phases of managing the operation, assigning vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, and preference of user, recording time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return, investigating overdue vehicles, directing activities of drivers via call or texts per our customers' requirements, tracking in-transit shipments, conferring with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise, and establishing service or delivery routes. Other duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Requirements include : Minimum 6 months related experience and / or training, prior Dispatching experience in a fast-moving environment preferred, critical understanding / emphasis on time-sensitive deliveries dealing with medications, specimens. Essential Skills include : ability to solve problems in a quick manner, geographical understanding and comprehension a plus, certifications in HIPPA Training & Blood Borne Pathogen Training a plus, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual, ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
