Major/Essential Functions:

• Provides patient care and diagnosis in Cardiology to newborns, children and adolescents

• Determines nature and extent of disease or injury

• Prescribes and administers medication

• Supervises mid-level providers in the clinical setting

• Ensures compliance with HIPPAA AND billing regulations

• Participates in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics

• Demonstrate Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Respnsibility

• Participates in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree

• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program

• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program

• Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License

• Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics or eligible to sit for examination in Pediatric Cardiology
