The Material Handler - Shipping Yard is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of castings in our outdoor shipping yard. This role plays a critical part in loading, unloading, staging, and organizing heavy cast iron products to meet shipping schedules and customer orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and heavy equipment to move large castings throughout the shipping yard
- Load and unload trucks according to shipping documents and schedules
- Prepare and stage castings for outbound shipments
- Perform visual inspections of castings for damage before shipment
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe yard areas in compliance with safety regulations
- Accurately record and report inventory movements
- Communicate effectively with the shipping team, production team, and truck drivers
- Assist in yard counts, cycle counts, and inventory tracking when needed
Requirements & Qualifications
Prior experience in a manufacturing or shipping / receiving yard environment preferredComfortable working outdoors in various weather conditionsForklift operation experience required (certification a plus)Ability to safely handle and move heavy materialsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow shipping paperworkMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditionsDependable and able to work with minimal supervisionWhy You'll Love This Job :
