Milieu Counselor

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Milieu Counselor to join our inpatient behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting a therapeutic and structured environment for patients experiencing psychiatric crises. This position works closely with the nursing and clinical teams to implement treatment plans and ensure patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care in alignment with the Nursing Department's Standards of Care.
• Support and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Facilitate a therapeutic milieu through effective communication, interaction, and behavioral interventions.
• Participate in unit monitoring, safety rounds, and crisis intervention efforts.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured inpatient psychiatric environment.
• Attend to the individual needs of patients while promoting dignity, respect, and autonomy.
• Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and clinical leadership.
• Document observations and interventions accurately and timely.
