JOB SUMMARY :
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Orthopedic Clinic provides patient care and clinical support to orthopedic physicians and healthcare providers. This role focuses on assisting with patient evaluations treatments procedures and patient education to ensure high quality efficient care in an outpatient orthopedic setting.

- Responsible to the Orthopedic Clinic Manager
- Positions directly supervised : None
- Regular contact with Surgeons Physicians Clinic Staff Hospital Surgery Staff and patients

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Assist orthopedic physicians and providers during patient examinations and proceduresPrepare patients for visits including obtaining medical histories vital signs and chief complaintsApply and remove casts splints braces and dressings as directedAssist with injections and minor orthopedic proceduresPerform wound care and post-operative follow-up careEducate patients on treatment plans post-procedure care medications and mobility restrictionsAnswer patient messages return phone calls and respond to clinical inquiries in a timely and professional mannerFollow up with patients regarding test results imaging findings and provider instructionsSchedule patient appointments procedures and follow-up visitsAdminister medications and injections in accordance with clinic policy and scope of practicePrepare and maintain examination rooms ensuring proper sterilization and equipment readinessCoordinate imaging referrals and follow-up appointmentsOrder stock and replenish medical and office supplies monitor inventory levelsDocument patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemCommunicate effectively with patients families and interdisciplinary healthcare team membersEnsure compliance with infection control safety standards and clinic policiesMaintain patient confidentiality and always ensure compliance with HIPAA regulationsAll other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required.Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Active LPN license in the State of LouisianaCertification : CPR Certification for Health Care Providers is requiredWork Experience :
Experience working within a surgical practice environment including but not limited to Orthopedic and General Surgery preferred.Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
