Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to lead our accounting operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company’s financial goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Provide Financial and Industry Market analytics (with assistance from the Director of Marketing) to the President and CFO by way of Unanet Accounting / CRM software and DataRails
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Prepare Property tax returns annually, as needed
• Support the CFO, President and HR Manager with annual insurance renewals (benefits and business insurance)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors, including R&D tax credits
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development
• Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensureaccuratefinancial tracking of projects
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes
