This is a 13-week contract position.

\n\nSchedule\n

Monday - Friday, Days, on call/callback, holidays per unit needs (5x8hrs). Must be able to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.

\n\nJob Description\n

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before x-ray procedures.
\n
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images as per physicians' orders.
\n
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their questions.
\n
• Position patients appropriately, including lifting and moving as necessary.
\n
• Handle radiologic equipment properly and maintain a low dose to patients.
\n
• Observe and interpret patients' status to meet age-specific needs.
\n
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
\n
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
\n
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient data accurately.
\n
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
\n
• Practice the dual patient identifier procedure to ensure safety.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
\n
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and NYS license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience.
\n
• Level 1 trauma center experience.
\n
• Experience with c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months.
\n
• Recent OR experience required.
\n
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
\n
• Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
\n
• A compassionate and patient demeanor, with the ability to work as a team player.
\n
