Position: Weekend Recreation Aide
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Shift: Part-Time | Weekends
Salary: $15.49/hr

Position Overview:
Acclaim Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and energetic Weekend Recreation Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs for our residents. This role promotes residents’ physical, social, and mental well-being while encouraging participation in recreational, social, and therapeutic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing recreation programs and special events (games, crafts, parties, religious services, etc.).

• Observe and document resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement in activities.

• Participate in recreation care plan development, resident assessments, and discharge planning.

• Involve residents and families in planning and goal-setting for activities.

• Coordinate activities with other departments as needed.

• Assist with field trips, community walks, and transport residents within the facility.

• Maintain recreation areas, equipment, and supplies, ensuring readiness for activities.

• Conduct individual or group sessions to promote self-esteem, motivation, and engagement.

• Provide social interaction and befriending to residents, including in-room visits.

• Participate in facility surveys and quality assurance initiatives.

• Follow all HIPAA requirements and facility policies.

Candidate Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Gmail preferred.

• Ability to make independent decisions and apply new methods in recreation services.

• Nursing home or long-term care experience preferred.
