POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

A postdoctoral position in PET Image Reconstruction research is immediately available in the laboratory of Spencer L. Bowen, Ph.D in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The focuses on advancing PET precision imaging. The researcher will be supported by a new NIH R01–funded project to develop state-of-the-art radiotracer quantification schemes for cardiac PET/MR exams. The lab also has several exciting projects in oncology and neurology that postdoctoral fellow may have the opportunity to work on.

The Department of Radiology at UTSW hosts a world class PET research program. Fellows in The Bowen Lab will have access to state of the art clinical PET systems, including a soon to be upgraded Siemens PET/MR scanner, a led by Dr. Xiankai Sun, Ph.D., and extensive computing resources, including two modern computer clusters. UT Southwestern Medical School is ranked in Tier 1 (top 16) for research, and is ranked 20th for Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery. There are well established collaborations with Internal Medicine, the Advanced Imaging Research Center, the Simmons Cancer Center, and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, that the postdoctoral fellow may benefit from.
