Civil Engineer Intern

As temporary employees, Civil Engineer Interns are responsible for assisting Engineers & Designers in the plan production and the design of a variety of public / private sector projects, including public works infrastructure, transportation, traffic, water resources (storm water), private land development, subsurface utility engineering, and various types of site development projects.  The Civil Engineer Intern position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the planning, design and construction of civil infrastructure improvements (i.e., paving, drainage, grading, water, sanitary sewer and transportation facilities).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities require actively assisting Engineering Design staff in the plan production and design of projects.

Specific responsibilities include :

• Assisting in conducting site investigations and feasibility studies for projects
• Creating detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents under supervision
• Supporting project managers, architects, and other professionals in developing project plans and deliverables
• Assisting in calculations and analysis for structural integrity, load capacity, and environmental impact of designs
• Learning and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards
• Assisting in project coordination, including monitoring timelines, budgets, and resources
• Providing support to senior engineers and team members as needed
